Frequently asked questions
What exactly does Namatak do?
Two things. First, you choose the schools of technical analysis and the patterns you want to follow, and Namatak monitors the markets for them and alerts you when one forms. Second, you can upload a chart image and get a plain-language explanation of what appears on it: the pattern, the levels and the scenarios to keep in mind. Both are there to help you learn to read charts yourself.
What doesn't it do?
It doesn't tell you to buy or sell. It doesn't give recommendations or price targets. It doesn't access your trading account or execute trades. It doesn't know your financial situation, so it can't tell you what's right for you.
Does Namatak tell me what to do?
No. Namatak is an educational tool: it explains what is happening on the chart so you can understand it yourself. It gives no recommendations or investment advice, and it is not a licensed financial adviser. The decision stays with you. Read the full disclaimer.
Is an explanation always correct?
No. Explanations are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete, and a pattern that forms can still fail. Treat them as a learning aid and check them against your own judgement.
Why does it say "not a chart"?
Because the image doesn't contain a clear chart. Try:
- A full image of the chart, not a cropped fragment.
- No glare or an angled photo of a screen — a direct screenshot is best.
- Candles or the line and the price axis clearly visible.
- If the image is cluttered with indicators, simplify it and try again.
How do I start, and where do I see my allowance?
Create an account and check its access and usage limits. Access codes are available on supported platforms; complimentary iPhone access is managed after account verification. Where paid plans are available, the price, period and renewal terms appear before confirmation. App Store or Google Play purchases are managed through your store account.
How do I choose pattern alerts?
In the app, pick the schools and patterns you want to follow. Alerts reach you as a notification from the app on your phone, and as a browser notification when you turn those on in the web app. You can change your choices at any time, and alerts do not use up your analysis allowance.
How do I delete my account?
From inside the app: Settings → Delete Account. Full details and steps are on the Delete Account page.
Where does the chart image go?
To our systems and to OpenAI's service, only to produce your explanation, and only after you allow it on a screen that names OpenAI. The processing copy on our server is cleared once the analysis ends, and the explanation text stays in your history. Chart explanation is not open to every account at the moment; when it is not available to you, the app says so and sends nothing. The full picture is in the Privacy Policy.
Why does it need the camera and photos?
The camera lets you photograph a chart from another screen, and photo access lets you upload a saved screenshot. We only access the image you choose.
Can I use it for Gulf stocks?
You can upload any chart. The explanation is general and educational; it is not personal advice. Please don't share a reading of a named listed stock as an "opinion" in a group or on social media, because that may breach financial-market rules in your country.
